After their "arrangement" came to an end all those months ago, they hadn't been phoning each other as much, but even when he'd been seeing her twice or more a week, she'd never blown up his phone like this. Twenty-two missed calls? Then again, he'd always been there to pick up.

As it stands, he figures it could only be one or two things: either she's changed her mind and wants things to go back to how they were, or something's happened and she needs him to make it right again. So he gives her a call within seconds of his phone making noise at him, his bright, sing-song voice doing nothing to give away his own predicament.

What he fails to notice is that those missed calls are dated across a span of three months.]
